Partner, Restructuring & Transaction Services
Philippe is one of the Founding Partners of Eight Advisory Belgium and the Managing Partner of the Eight Advisory Belgium office. As Transaction Services and Restructuring Lead he brings more than 20 years of transaction and restructuring experience to the table.
Philippe has led many large client engagements for leading private equity houses and multinational corporations. He has deep knowledge in due diligence (buy-side, VDD/VA), Financial and Operational Turnaround and Restructuring, Debt & Capital advisory and Distressed M&A.
Prior to joining Eight Advisory, Philippe led the Financial and Operational Restructuring activities of PwC Belgium.
Entrepreneurship in my view is based on (i) guts "daring to step out of your comfort zone", (ii) luck "no glory without some luck" and (iii) agility "dare to adjust to a new situation".
Peter is Eight Advisory’s P&O Transformation Leader. With over 25 years of People & Organisation experience, his background includes projects with a high-level of complexity, conducted for the Belgian as well as the European and Middle East Market. Before joining Eight Advisory, Peter assumed several local and international leadership roles at PwC, including 10 years as Partner. Peter has a Master in Organizational Psychology, an MBA and a postgraduate in business economics, next to an advanced degree in counselling. He studied at the University of Leuven, Vlerick and Insead.
His key-areas of expertise are all People & Organisation aspects of transformation, including Change Management, HR Transformation, People in Deals and Talent & Leadership development.
Peter did projects for financial services, retail, industrial products and services companies as well as governmental organisations.

Tom founded the Belgian Eight Advisory Belgium office with Philippe Fimmers in 2018. He leads the Belgian Transformation practice in Belgium and works in close collaboration with the other offices across Europe.
Tom specializes in Due Diligence (operational, carve-out & synergy), Post Merger Integration, Working Capital Management and Operational Restructuring/turnarounds.
Tom mainly works for private equity and corporates in the industrial manufacturing, consumer goods or food & agri sector.
Prior to joining Eight Advisory, Tom worked for more than 5 years for a global supply chain and operations consulting firm. He joined PwC in 2011 where he launched the Operational Transaction Services department in Belgium, providing clients with operational advice during a transformation or a restructuring phase.
Over the years, I have focused on executing projects for my clients, private equity houses and their portfolio companies. In doing so, I have continuously strived to provide insights and quality services which help to build trust and confidence. I truly believe that the right mindset is look at the company as it would be your own with an entrepreneurial mindset enabling you to spot the opportunities.
Pieter is a partner in Eight Advisory’s Brussels office with more than 14 years of transaction and management consulting experience.
Pieter has extensive experience advising financial investors including buyout funds, family offices, corporates and evergreen investors. Most of his work takes place in consumer products, retail, healthcare and industrials.
He holds deep expertise in financial due diligence (both buy & sell side), carve-outs, assessing value creation plans and SPA assistance.
During his career, Pieter has worked on several local and international assignments (Europe, South Africa, Asia, USA) and spent 2 years in the United States, Boston, where he coordinated numerous large international Private Equity transactions and highly complex carve-out transactions.
Pieter is much appreciated for his pragmatic and hands-on approach, focusing on the core questions of his clients and value levers in a deal.
Respect sits at the core of my everyday interactions. I see it as the basis of any successful relationship, being it with team members, clients or target management.
Matthew Thumas is the lead of Eight Advisory’s Valuations team in Brussels as well as in London. He has over 15 years’ experience in advising on valuations in the context of M&A and business combinations, tax and legal structuring, purchase price allocations, and capital efficiency for both corporate and private equity clients.
Matthew has a broad degree of valuations expertise across a large array of sectors, including Renewable energy, TMT, Food & Beverage, Industrial Products, Life Sciences, and Business Services.
Prior to joining Eight Advisory, Matthew was at Deloitte for 14 years in New York, Paris, India and South Africa.
Acting upon opportunities and translating them into new solutions or services for clients is a philosophy I strongly adhere to.
